As mentioned in the previous post, I never set goals because I know I would not keep them but this year it's going to be different. I am going to set myself 12 goals, and I will try my hardest to stick to them throughout 2019.
I mean, this shouldn't be a problem since my boyfriend and I have a pretty good diet nowadays, but limiting sugar and fatty foods is a must. I love chocolate and sugar in my coffee so this will be a challenge but I want to feel good about myself therefore I believe that this is a great way to start 2019.
Don't eat anything after 8 pm (except on Fridays)
This is not going to be that difficult since I try to eat my meals and snacks before 8 pm as I know that it is not good for your digestion and health to eat less than two hours before heading to bed. I am also setting a rule that Friday will be the only night of the week when we're allowed to eat snacks - Friday's are snack and movie nights. This doesn't mean we'll stuff our faces with chocolate; popcorn has low calories and is good for you and so are nuts and raisins covered in chocolate!!
Exercise (30 minutes)
Exercising is something I know I need to start doing as I don't feel great about myself. Exercising doesn't mean that you have to go to the gym everyday. A simple 30 minute workout a day at home would be more beneficial than doing nothing.
Little workout in the morning
As mentioned above, I am not great at exercising yet I know that it is something I need to do in order to keep my body in shape. I plan to do a little workout before heading into University in the morning while drinking hot water with lemon in order to wake my body up and give myself a good start to the day.
Walk at least 6,000 steps a day
Now this might be a challenge. Why? Because I live right on University campus which means that I don't have far to walk. This goal will be difficult for me as I have days where I am in 9 to 6 and I sit in front of a screen all day as this is what my course involves. This will motivate me to walk a little more during the day and take breaks where I go and stretch.
Drink a glass of warm water with lemon each morning
Lemon and hot water in the morning will help to flush your digestive system and re-hydrate the body. As well as that, Lemons are a great Vitamin C and they also have a rich source of potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium which is what your body needs. "Lemon juice with warm water helps in quick weight loss as it promotes digestion and increases the metabolic rate."
Read a book a month
Reading books used to be something I loved when I was in High School, but since I started University I had less time and only read three books last year. This year, I hope to read at least a book a month and get back into reading as I do miss it.
Start earning from my blog
This is a goal of mine but I will not cry if it doesn't happen as I know how difficult it is to get traffic to your blog and start earning money from it. Up to date, I have tried very hard to get where I am, and I am honestly proud of myself that I finally got the courage to start writing.
Write in my journal everyday
In 2018, I managed to write in my journal for three months straight which is amazing to look back at and read my memories yet I wish I could have done it everyday in order to have more things to look back at. Starting in 2019 I hope to finally complete my first year of everyday writing in my journal!
Mental health has been a part of my life for a while now and I want this year to be a year where I finally learn to accept who I am and how to battle my demons. I am so grateful for all the support I get (thank you Jake) and hope this year will be even better.
Get an A in my main design project
Sounds like such a silly goal but it is something I really hope to achieve.
Design a big project in my chosen pathway
When I finish University I want to work in a Leisure environment designing hotels, bars and cafes. I want my last major project to be in this pathway so that I can prove to myself than I can do this as a job in the future.
