Happy 31st of January! Where has this month gone? It seems like Christmas was only last week yet in reality it's nearly February. I decided to write another diary entry on what I have been doing and basically what my January looked like so let's begin.
I had a lovely time home with my family during Christmas but it was time to get back to reality! I flew home on the 4th of January and since then uni work has taken over my life. Don't get me wrong, I love my course and I love studying Interior Design but it is getting closer to my final deadline and the stress is kicking in.
I went to visit Jake from the 17th to the 19th of January as I haven't seen him in a month so I thought that would be a nice weekend away from work, yet the terrible news of my family dog having to be put to sleep made me want to sit and cry all weekend. After the visit, Jake decided to visit me last weekend and he stayed here till Tuesday which was nice as it felt like we were living together again. (In case you don't know, Jake and I lived together for two years during Uni, but then he got offered a placement in his home town so he moved back home for this academic year.)
I am getting used to living by myself yet I find myself struggling more than I thought I will. Being away from home and not having anybody to turn to during the day is difficult especially since I am someone who enjoys company; even if it's just sitting in silence, but knowing that somebody is near is comforting for me.
I have been keeping myself active and healthy though! Since moving to England over two years ago I put on a bit of weight so I wanted 2020 to be the year where I start looking after myself again. Sticking to a healthy diet is a hard one since I am a chocolate lover but we're getting there. I've also been doing home workouts once a day and believe it or not I have lost 2 kg since the start of January! It might not seem like a lot but for me it is the step in the right direction.
February will hopefully be a better month for me. I have a Bake Off competition at Uni with my friends and it's my turn this weekend to cook; so that shall be interesting. I am turning 22 in February and Jake and I booked a trip to Prague during my birthday so I am quite excited for the upcoming month!
Hope you had an amazing start to 2020 and that it keeps getting better :)
