What a crazy time to be alive. Today is the 36th day of my isolation and honestly, it is beginning to feel like the new normal. Before the UK went into lock-down, I managed to travel all the way to my boyfriends for the weekend hoping I'd be able to catch a flight home - unfortunately, that that was cancelled which meant that I had to stay over at Jake's for the whole lock down as I had no way of getting home or back to my student accommodation.
However, with all the bad things happening in the world, his whole lock-down has not stopped me from doing work and working on myself.
Honesty, I have been so discouraged to do any uni work in the last month. Usually I would be able to sit in front of my laptop and just work away till night time - but now since I have all the time in the world, I just can't seem to find any motivation to do work. I finally managed to start working again on Monday, which I am so happy about since my deadlines start on the first of May and I am nowhere near finishing my design project.
In case you don't know, I am designing a cafe, bar, restaurant and reception area within a sustainable hotel.
With a third of my deadline work completed, I am finally being hopeful that I will have my work done on time and to a high standard!
I have been spending a lot of tome tweaking and updating my blog pages, SEO and making sure that all of my links and media works the way it should. I found a lot of broken links that have been now fixed and with finally understanding SEO a little better, I am getting more views that are consistent on my blog.
Pinterest has also been a big help. I read a book on Pinterest marketing and did some online courses that enabled me to get more views, saves AND LINK CLICKS (yes, you read that right - half of my traffic comes from Pinterest nowadays and I couldn't be happier). Wondering how I managed to do that? - Keep reading!!
Now this has been something I have been planning for AGES and I am so excited that I can finally share with you that I am setting up my own community for bloggers and influencers! If you follow me on social media, they you might have already seen me talking about it as I have created social pages for my upcoming community however, that is not all.
I am in the process of writing my own courses on Instagram and Pinterest growth that will hopefully be available to purchase at the stat of June - don't worry though, I am making sure that the courses cover everything and they will be sold at a reasonable price because let's face it, money is tight now. Along with my paid courses, I will also be giving away tips over at my Instagram and Twitter and hopefully I can create a community where bloggers and influencers can chat, share their tips and create a close bond with each other. I am also planning to create a closed ground on Facebook for all members of the community but that is yet to come!!
I am NOT an impulse buyer but when I saw that Animal Crossing came out on Nintendo Switch I just had to get it. After a month of constant online checking for it to be back in stock, I managed to get one last week and I couldn't be happier!! I am obsessed and a little addicted (which is worrying with all these deadlines approaching)
I am a massive snack lover - whatever the snack, I'll have it. This can be dangerous for me as I am not doing a lot of working out lately but I have found a substitute to my chocolate cravings that is also VEGAN! Raw Bake Station* is a brand that creates raw and vegan snacks that are gluten free, grain free and dairy free which means they are suitable for everyone. I had the opportunity to taste their new cookie range that has three different flavours:
vanilla choc chip
salted double choc
chocolatey & orangey
I personally have to say that my favourite is the salted double choc. These cookies re so yummy and I did not feel guilty at all after having a packet. | Each packet has six small cookies which are also perfect if you have kids and want to feed them healthy snacks!
Disney+ has been keeping me company so I have binge watched so many classic movies already - I made a Netflix and Disney+ Watchlist not that long ago so you can have a look if you're looking for something to watch.. Chilling in the garden with Jake's cats has also been fun - I mean, I am not a cat person but we can't really be fussy at this time and age. I am not a key worker (I work at my student accommodation) but I have to get back to Leicester next week so I am leaving this lovely countryside I have been staying at for the past 5 weeks.
